We're Knitting and We're Cooking

Peter Kratochvil

Don't you love how that title sounds like we're "cooking" at knitting as in flying along.  But if you were at the activity tonight, then you know I actually meant cooking and knitting as in two different activities.

All my creativity was "spent" at the activity,so this will be a very basic recap, but I wanted to get it out now (rather than later when my creative well is refilled) because I have some links to share.  You know the saying about saving the best for last, like deseret, right?  But hey life is short so sometimes you need deseret first.  Or in this case, the best, or the cooking first.

Tonight Sherri Rosengren gave us a demo and tasty samples of recipes created from the Make-A-Mix cookbook.  Make-A-Mix is a wonderful cookbook that is two cookbooks in one.  There are basic mixes that you make in advance.  Then later when you need dinner in a hurry, you add a few ingredients and TaDa!  Sherri mentioned that there might be a new updated version that is different than the one she had.  She was right.  I checked amazon, and the new one looks a little different.  But have no fear, I have a link to help you find it.  :)   Just click on the title below.

Now about the knitting. First of all....many thanks to Darelyn Guinn, LeAnn Lofgren and Vienna Nelson, (and anyone else who helped a neighbor!) for helping with the teaching.  I couldn't have done it without you!
If you get home and think "oh no, I forgot!"  Don't worry that happens to everyone, especially if you set it down and don't come back to it for a couple days.  :)   I found a great resource on Youtube.  The Knit Witch -- she has several instructional videos about knitting that are good quality.  There are many more than I have listed here, but this will give you a start.
